FULCO AUTOUPDATE 2.0 INSTALLTION INSTRUCTIONS FOR WINDOWS 2000/XP

Installing from a previous version of AutoUpdate
------------------------------------------------
1. Log in as Administrator or a user with admin privledges.
2. From Control Panel, Add Remove Programs, Uninstall any existing Fulco Auto Update
3. Manually remove the following registry entry (if it exists):
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
   Fulco AutoUpdate="<INSTALLDIR>\Update23.exe"
4. From internet, CD-ROM, or other distributable (NOTE you must have MSI version 2.0 of higher installed):
   a. Double-click the .msi file.
5. Follow on-screen instructions.
6. From a Command Prompt type the following:
   "<INSTALLDIR>\fausvc /install"
   "sc config FUpdateSvc start= auto"
   "sc start FUpdateSvc"
7. Verify the update has run by checking for update.log in the
    <INSTALLDIR>\$Applied Updates$ folder (may take a few moments)

New install
-----------
Note: Default <INSTALLDIR> is "C:\Program Files\Fulco"
1. Log in as Administrator or a user with admin privledges.
2. From internet, CD-ROM, or other distributable (NOTE you must have MSI version 2.0 of higher installed):
   a. Double-click the .msi file.
3. Follow on-screen instructions.
4. From a Command Prompt type the following:
   "<INSTALLDIR>\fausvc /install"
   "sc config FUpdateSvc start= auto"
   "sc start FUpdateSvc"
5. Verify the update has run by checking for update.log in the
    <INSTALLDIR>\$Applied Updates$ folder (may take a few moments)

Version Notes:
The following files are installed:
   <INSTALLDIR>\Update32.exe 2.0.8.25 (or higher)
   <INSTALLDIR>\fpm.exe 1.0.0.2 (or higher)
   <INSTALLDIR>\fausvc.exe 1.0.2.10 (or higher)
The following registry entries will be added:
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Fulco\InstallLocations
   AutoUpdate="<INSTALLDIR>"
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Fulco\Updates

NOTE: Applcation needs read/write permission to the <INSTALLDIR> and subdirectories in order to create directories and save patch logs
