FULCO CIRULCATION MANAGER 4 Copyright 2000-2004 © Fulco, Inc. ================================= README.TXT The Fulco Circulation Manager (FCM) is a client application designed to access publication data via queries to a remote database server (RDBS). With the FCM, users can view and change specific publication settings, subscriber information, scheduled operational jobs, status of credit card transactions, and more. Sets of pre-defined procedures are also available allowing users to print some of the most common reports and run standard maintenance jobs. NEW FEATURES AND ENHANCEMENTS IN 3.8 ------------------------------------ · Real-time Transactions! Change of Address transactions posted via the FCM are now updated in real-time. The 24-hour processing delay had been removed. Your changes are immediately applied to the subscriber records. More transactions continue to be available. Look for adds, cancels, renewals & payments coming soon! · Quick Login Users can now specify a default connection and database in the connection setup. Logging into publication files is simply a single-click away. Local file synchronization has been dramatically improved, reducing the wait upon initial connect. · New Query Comparison Subscribers records can be queried using the new 'SubString not Equal' comparison operator. · New Reports Remote users now have access to the 'BPA On/Off' & 'Geographic Audit Totals' reports. NEW FEATURES AND ENHANCEMENTS IN 3.6 ------------------------------------ · Internet Ready! The FCM now works directly over the internet. You data is safe and secure via an encrypted session. · Reports as PDF Documents All reports can be created and saved as PDF (Portable Document Format) files. PDF documents can be read and/or printed using the free Adobe® Acrobat® Reader® software. Initial display screens and ‘last filesets’ are some of the options designed to streamline workflow. · Subscriber Select & Sort A powerful query feature that allows users to pick out and sort subscribers based on any field(s) stored in the database. Most commonly used to define criteria for subsequent reports or provide quick-counts on subscriptions or number-of-copies. · Reports add-on Allows common reports and jobs to be run through the Circulation Manager and downloaded for local printing. · System Job Schedule Displays detailed information about upcoming and previously run publication jobs. RECOMMENDED SETTINGS -------------------- The following operating system configuration settings are recommended for best display results: Display · 640x480 or higher screen resolution. · 256 or better Color Depth Most application screens fit into a 640x480 screen; however, more information can be displayed concurrently at higher resolutions. Windows Appearance · Use standard or predefined Windows® schemes, or choose high contrast colors. Certain color combinations can cause “hidden” text or missing data (i.e. setting a black background with black text). Fonts · Changing default fonts or font sizes will have unpredictable results. · Recommended fonts: Name Size Variable Width Font: Arial 8 Fixed Width Font: Andale Mono 8 Many data fields are fixed in width. Setting a larger font size can cause text fields to be cut off, and/or not displayed. Form printing can also be affected by unusual font specifications. All recommended fonts are included and installed by the application setup utility.
